Weapon ideas? Well, you need a EMP rocket. The EM-Pulse covers a area of medium size and discharges all the shields. Tag rocket - Normally there are bigger ships with big weapons in our spacefights. These weapons need help to aim. The Tag rocket is used to tag an enemy so the huge weapon from the mo...

I like how you seperated different objectives in your work like "shooting" and "moving". This project is of special interest to me, because of my matura thesis. If you like I can give you my thesis from 2004 and a friend of mine, studying physics right now, can give you the code for the swarming. Li...

Correct, I agree completely. In our Universe, we will have ships who will be able to fly in space and in the atmosphere and some who will only fly in space or the atmosphere. That the physical outline of this ships has to follow some physical laws is clear and should be thought of. And we don't have...

Weekend in Paris

I've been to Paris this weekend and of course we had to visit "La Defense". For those who do not know what that is: At "La Defense" there are most of the newer skyscrapers of Paris. Because it was a Sunday, the whole area was completely empty and no single person was there. That gave the whole scene...

x3n wrote:we could add a mounting point to the weapon too, so the engine just connects this MP with the MP on the ship.
Makes the whole thing even more complicated but is exactly the solution to the problem ;) :D

Jah, I see what you mean. We decided to concentrate on space flights only, but later we want to fly from space to the atmosphere to the ground and up again. The problems are the physics we haven't implemented yet and we haven't really thought about how we wanna design that whole concept of flying in...

This issue you describe is only a problem when you build something for a specific spaceship only. A weapon will now be put on different spaceships and therefore it's logical to model the weapon in the center. But you are right that with the hover, there are these problems.

Hey guys, relax, don't worry. I didn't choose a project yet, so there is a good chance I will have to write the mission plot for the first level and put in your models and define some cool stuff happening. The problem is, we cannot build a level just yet without anything working or even existing yet...

Well, since we are going to be able to change the camera angle in every direction it's practically possible to have a view like in starfox. But not only that. Since we could also change from different kinds of control patterns, you do not just change the view but also the gameplay. Of course, we hav...

I liked what I've seen so far, but I really look forward to hear some more precise ideas from you.
The rough design of the station is really cool and gives enough room for changes yet. Thumbs up.

I do like the WoW-quest GUI, but I think it could be better and not just by the looks. I will try and think for some cooler ideas, which do not come to me at this time of night.
I like that you already considered WoW's GUI and I like your spirit to make it even better ;-).

Interesting idea and I'm sure it's going to become handy in the future. For example you don't have to compile Orxonox every time you changed the weapon balance, just restart. It's also lot's easier to define the weapon slots and other positions of other models which are connected to the main model. ...

The ideas are great and they are going to make the game special and interesting. Everything is super. We should keep in mind though, that we want to show off. This means we have to give the player a lot, but not everything. Like a demo version of a commercial game. I remember me and my friends playi...

Cool stuff, especially the Noxons style ideas. They shouldn't look like fishes though, but I think some ideas can be taken from this pictures. Thanks!
