First of all: thanks for all the inputs. Promotion will be a very fundamental part of Orxonox once we have a playable demo. Of course, it is important to not rush into this topic. Orxonox is now 2.5 years old and was not yet announced in any forum or portal (expect some libraries db's we are using f...

loki installer for Linux games
Does anyone know others (doesn't matter if they are for Linux/Windows/Mac)?

cheers

Where did you install the vorbis library on your system? You should be able to find

Code: Select all

/usr/include/vorbis/
/usr/include/ogg/
with some header files in them.

Report back, if you got any news, I will keep an eye on this thread

The CountPointer, the base reference mechanism of the ResourceManager, does not seem to work correctly: If I create 10 times the model: models/creatures/male.md2 the CountPointer::count() return value is always 2. If I understand the concept correctly, it should always return the number of reference...

I have just verified, that the path to the model data is correct. There is obviously a problem in the MD2Data: the vertex informations are completely messed up: vertex: -1505585607220892518112805842354962432.000000, -1713284770553236935573084301567197184.000000, -246098835314457942490416592709484544...

[Solved] MD2 Drawing problem in Network branche

The MD2 model doesn't get drawn correctly in the network branche. Altough it's no problem to draw it in the single-player levels, in the multiplayer levels the model is a mess.

Compiling with Visual Studio is as native a compilation as we can wish for. It's an old idea that is almost as old as Orxonox itself  but neither Bensch nor I had the courage and experience to do it. That's why I would say that two persons maintaining Windows would be better than just one, so ...

Windows Maintainer

We strongly need a Windows maintainer: someone that is able to compile Orxonox on Windows to make binaries for our releases. Additionaly it would be very good, if he/she is willing to trace some bugs, that only exist on the Windows system. Of course I will assist him/her as much as I can  he/s...

Yes, at the current state of our project, we are not yet ready for the gamers. But I think, that we are ready for programmers and artists (especially artists). There are many possibilities to advertise Orxonox in developer forums (e.g. the link nowic has posted). At the end of the semester however w...

I like the GameStar magazine and usually buy it every month (have not yet bought it today 8) ) I agree with your and Gunnars idea. The only way to influence the graphics performance on Orxonox is by selecting: different resolutions - this is pretty much standard in many other games and scales quite ...
