Re: Can't compile with Visual Studio 2013
I'm no Visual Studio expert, but if you have to compile the dependencies by yourself, does that imply that the dependencies provided on orxonox' download site for MSVC 2005, 2008, and 2010 do not work with MSVC12? If so - would you mind providing the dependencies for other users on our download site...

Re: Unexpected behaviour of getOrientation and/or rotations
There's no general answer to your problem because it depends on how you want to limit the turrets rotation. Can it freely yaw/pitch/roll as long as it happens in the "upper hemisphere"? => Let D be the original viewing direction of the object, then D*object.getOrientation() is the current viewing di...

Re: Unexpected behaviour of getOrientation and/or rotations
I understand that the values of getOrientation() are confusing, but they are not the yaw/pitch/roll values. If you want yaw/pitch/roll values, use Quaternion.getYaw()/getPitch()/getRoll(), but they are not necessarily the same values that used to rotate the object because rotations are not unique. O...

Re: Moving SVN to the new server
Maybe test it with one of the other repositories first (less frequent commits) and see if redirection works.

Re: Unexpected behaviour of getOrientation and/or rotations
I don't understand your question and I don't understand your picture. But maybe it helps if I explain the basics of rotations. In 2D space... a point can be expressed as vector or an imaginary number (defined by two values, either x/y or radius/angle). a rotation can be expressed as an imaginary num...

Re: Adding new files to the SVN repository
I want to bump this topic up again because it seems to be forgotten. So here's a reminder: Please set the SVN-property "eol-style" to "native" for every new text-based file (.h, .cc, .txt, .cmake, .xml, etc) which is added to SVN. Of course we cannot expect this from every pps student, but the assis...

Orxonox Movie
I created a short movie about Orxonox. It shows some of the new features from this semester, as well as some older stuff. Enjoy!

Re: BigShips and their parts
If you join us for another semester, that would be great ;) I would be happy to support you with this task (or another). I didn't find the time to visit the PPS so far this semester, but I will eventually. In Orxonox we try to "do it right"; often this isn't the easiest way, but in the end it usuall...

Re: BigShips and their parts
Very interesting topic. And I like your thoughts. I think we could discuss ages about this topic until we find a good solution. But I'm not in the mood to write an essay right now (maybe later), so I'll try to keep it short for the moment. First of all: If you want to attach something, you should at...

Re: Runtime Error on Windows 7 64bit
The problem with missing files is solved now. Try to update data_extern with SVN and it should be ok.

Re: Limit Theory (Procedural Universe Game)
interesting.
There was also another game ~3 years ago with a cool tech demo, called Infinity. We discussed it here:
