Quest dialog

Post by hejja » Wed Nov 22, 2006 2:35 pm

Goal of this project is the programming of a GUI (Graphical User Interface) for quest reception. In the end you should see a box with a picture of the quest-giver, a story around the quest and finally a short description and maybe pictures of the reward(s).

Here's a picture of such a GUI, although ours will look much better:

Wiki page is in development...

I do like the WoW-quest GUI, but I think it could be better and not just by the looks. I will try and think for some cooler ideas, which do not come to me at this time of night.
I like that you already considered WoW's GUI and I like your spirit to make it even better ;-).

I've uploaded a screenshot of the quest-GUI in Freelancer. I like the arrangement of quest list, picture and description.

I always loved the Final Fantasy in-game GUIs :) http://www.ffcompendium.com/h/innov01.shtml
but that's just mho ... :)
Next point will be to find an entrance into the existing code of the opengl GUI and then start the implementation and playing around, testing different ideas...
The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.

You now got the structure of your GUI, now lets make it look a little nicer (you will have to define your own gui graphics)
