What do you think about names from the video game universe?
Gordon ;), Guybrush, Turrican, Kane, Barney, Garland, Bahamuth, Sid, Sarge, Kefka, Ragnar, ... whatever comes to your mind, preferably the more unknown :)

Also a pretty neat idea. There are quite a few game heroes out there

now we are getting there...
But for some reason I would prefer to use some villain's names, than those of the heroes - makes it creepier.

Game heroes are neat, star names also (e.g. small stars with a small magnitude up to Sirius with a very high magnitude). I also like the suggestion of spaceship names like Sputnik (my favorite: russian names of course).

Don't forget that some of the names used in certain series and games may have copyright restrictions.

True that :)
I also like nicolas' suggestion only to take villain's names!

Russian space junk is funny too :), but i'm not sure if there's enough of it?

I'm seriously asking myself how you got my post... I've edited the message minutes afterwards.
I'm guessing you are administrator..

Restarting a new discussion here because I don't think all of you see eye to eye:

What version are we exactly and what precisely do you want to name?
The trunk has the following signature in the root CMakeLists: v0.0.3 "Castor"

I don't understand why we name patch versions instead of the minor and major ones. Of course I can see that "patch" is not really an argument in our phase of development because there are not releases. Nevertheless having version 0.1 would mean to me that we actually have something to play with. Do we have that now?

EDIT:
And what the hell are the codename discussions doing in the "General Discussion" forum that is not listed in the "Orxonox" section but rather in the "Community" section. Though clearly this discussion is exactly about Orxonox...

these are the steps i've done about that:
- rename 0.1 to 0.0.1
- move 0.0.1 to tags (as it's not really a release)
- copy current trunk to tags/0.0.2

so according to that we would be working on 0.0.3 now

i think there's a serious chance that we might be able to have a first release this year ^^
