-ise or -ize?

Simple question: Shall we stick to British or American English when writing code?
Personally I always use British English when I can help it.
Btw, OGRE uses British conventions because of Steve Streeting as the project lead of course.

I prefer American English as I watch a lot of American and nearly none British TV. However as you pointed out, we do use Ogre as a graphics engine and as it is written by a British and written British, I vote for British English coding.
But is this really important?

No it is not of course. Just curious
But I'm going to stick to -ize if many people vote for American English ^^

You gotta love the -ize.
And as for American vs. British TV:
I mean seriously, not even "The Office" is just as good in British, only exception: "Coupling" which is just ingenious.

I use -ize everywhere in the code, simply because A > B (although I personally prefer -ise). Consistency is important and because 90% of our code uses -ize we should stick to the american form.

Does that imply that I wrote less than 10% of the code?
I've had a look with search and find: I'd say about 70%.
Now that I've been consistently using -ise, shall I inconsistently switch over to -ize or not?

No but it says I only know 30% of your code

Well, I don't force you to do anything as long as you don't switch all my code from -ize to -ise

Then I shall start to convert all our code into British English

i personally think its a moot point to discuss about whether using -ise or -ize. do you really think it's important to have consistent spelling in our code ?
i think almost nothing is as unimportant as spelling is

As I have posted earlier: No, of course not. Please read all the posts before answering, thanks.

that doesn't seem to me that its unimportant to you.
