subversion 1.5 released

Post by nicolasc » Thu Jun 19, 2008 8:34 pm

A new release of Subversion has been released today.

From the list of new features I'd like to point out a few:
  • merge tracking
  • relative URLs
  • improvements is copy and move
Especially the merge tracking feature seems nice, or was notalby missing so far - those who had a look at ohloh know what I am taking about. ;)

I think the package should be into the gentoo repos any day now, so I could install (and upgrade) it if wanted.

cheers

BOFH Excuse #212: Of course is doesn't work. We've performed a software upgrade.

Sounds good :)
And yes, it would be cool if could upgrade. But what about creating a backup before doing so?

of course I will.

I currently upgraded subversion to 1.5 and prepared a testing ground. It should still work with the older clients, but I prefer to have some testing done.
the URL of the test ground is https://svn.orxonox.net/testrepo .

I am mostly interested in the behaviour of the "older" clients (version < 1.4.6). Debian and Ubuntu still has them, I am just running on cutting edge with my system, so i cannot test, and a quick drive with a old svn worked flawless.

have fun
