I've just found a way to make a Linux game installer:
loki installer for Linux games
Does anyone know others (doesn't matter if they are for Linux/Windows/Mac)?

Well, the leader of installers:
InstallShield which works for both Windows and Linux, but costs an awful lot (between 150 and 3000$ depending on the license).
Other than that I don't know any. But I will have a look at a few open source programs with non-InstallShield installers and ask these people (irfanview and dBPowerAmp come to my mind).

Ok... dBPowerAmp uses the Spoon Installer, which I couldn't find anywhere on the internet.
Microsoft devotes a few pages to developers who want to make a Windows installer:

Loki installers are good, but limited to Linux systems.
There is also a well known Open Source Installer for Windows:
http://nsis.sourceforge.net/

Firefox 2 uses NSIS and also gaim, openoffice, emule, ati, kaspersky...

On Windows, there are other free setup creators beside NSIS:
Inno Setup and Install Creator (by Clickteam) to just mention two.

In my opinion: As an open source project we should also use an open source installer.
