Nautilus2

Post by greenman » Tue Dec 09, 2008 12:57 pm

Hi all,

as you might read we have to replace our old nautilus server which is currently located at the vseth-headquarters

VSETH offered us a virtual machine on one of their servers.
parallel we got an offer from amiv for a physical server.

We already got the VSETH server and im setting it up at the moment. Current status is the following:
- SSHD is running
- DNS server is up and running. Server is reachable under the zone new.orxonox.net
- Webserver is up and running. reachable under {www|svn|admin|forum}.new.orxonox.net
- SVN is running (not up-to-date)
- Mysql is up and running.
- ircd is up and running. reachable under irc.new.orxonox.net
- irc bot is up and running. maintaining the channel #orxonox

TODO:
- mail-server (courier, postfix)
- mailinglists (mailman)

Greets Oli

That's very good news indeed! Moving from VSETH to VSETH ;)

That's really great :D.

I don't know how clearly I stated this already: VSETH decided to remove our physical server at the end of the semester. Because of this we had to find a new place and VSETH gave us a VM to use.

Now we have about a week left to change our server, but I think, that I can pull some strings, if you need more time, Oli. It would be cool however if I wouldn't have to do this. Let me know.

Great thing, however webmail stopped functioning. Maybe because webmail still runs on the old server.

Great so the post I'm writing right now won't be in the new forum? too bad.

What about updating the forums software? We still have v2 while phpBB v3 has been out for a long time. If there are not to many complains I'll update it, I've done it already.

Oh yeah, and we should finally be able to fix the encoding problem with the database.

forum, admin and irc.orxonox.net also migrated now

you might encounter problem today because there are still old dns records flying around in the caches of dns servers, but from tomorrow on everything should work fine...

edit: irc with ssl does not work anymore currently (formerly port 6669). whether this is only temporary or will be permanent i can't say at the moment ;)
