I agree.

In response to the higher contrast discussion, I just tried to make the spaceship brighter, here's the result of ~30 seconds tweaking. So I think, Fabians proposition can definitely be applied to my icon, and we should do that.

On another note do we need a .svg version for the debian repository?

There is no actual need for SVG, but it's nice to have.
However it makes no sense to create an SVG for the logo you created because it is an image and not vector graphics.

What I wonder however is: how many resolutions do we need for the Linux Distributions?

a quick view into /usr/share/icons lists the following resolutions:
- 8x8 ^^
- 16x16
- 20x20
- 22x22
- 24x24
- 32x32
- 48x48
- 64x64
- 72x72
- 96x96
- 128x128
- 256x256

However I guess that they're not all necessary ^^
Maybe Adi knows more about that.

I have cast the colors into a GIMP palette. The primary colors have black to the left and to the right.
